2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Steering locks up

I would like to know if anyone has had the steering lock up on their dodge truck. Mine the gearbox locked up at 22,000 miles. My 2000 truck is out of warranty but i feel the low miles this should not have happened. Dodge garage say they have not heard of any steering problems with trucks, but i know of 3 guys local that have, whether the box or hydro boost system went bad. Is this a problem on the truck or is this just a limited freak thing. Any info would be much appreciated thanks.

Hello, I saw your steering problem listed here. I know this is belated but I have the same problem with my '03 and wondered what the fix was,I have only 22;000 on mine. Its been at the dealer over 3 weeks, they are stumped.

I'd be indebted for any input that would help.

sometimes on start-up in cold weather (20 or below) I will lose power steering until I rev it up a couple of times. I switched to sync. ps fuild it helped but still does it from time to time. Hope this helps
