I have recently been having a problem with the steering on my 04 ram 2500 4x4 which has 88,000 mi. With the truck in 2wd, when I turn the wheel (left or right) while driving, usaully at lower speeds, I get a jerking of the steering wheel back and forth. It is almost identical as the feeling you get while turning the steering wheel on dry pavement when it is in 4wd. Anyone experience this... ... ... ... ... . thoughts or ideas appreciated. I also have an 03 also with 127,000 mi and have never had this situation.

I was wondering if it was the u-joints... ... ... ... ... ..... was hoping it wasn't. Precision 464's are the way to go? Looking for a long term fix... ... ...

The precision 464's are seem to be good so far, I have about 15k on them now. I know that's not allot miles, but my axle guy recommended them to me and his word is good

The Precision parts come with grease zerks so you can give them a couple shots of grease every other oil change or so. Precision is a Federal Mogul brand. I had some early Precision joints and they failed early due to blocked grease passages, however, I understand that they spend time in the field and have revised their parts. I'm giving them another shot. They are cheaper from Rock Auto than from NAPA. I love NAPA but, hey, you gotta shave dollars where ever you can these days.

Thanks for the info... ... ... ... ... . I got the Precision 464's from Summit Racing (same price at Rock Auto). Should have them in this weekend.

Now is the time to upgrade to a free-spin hub kit- espescially if the front wheel bearings are original. You're going to invenst in the labor anyway, may as well get some improvement from it.
