i was making a u-turn on a street with a slant to it in the snow saturday, and my whole truck slid sideways into the curb. the passenger front wheel took the hit, and now my steering wheel is rotated about 45 degrees counterclockwise.

the wheel hit the curb square on the bottom of the rim. the only thing i can think has happened is the axle shifted left. that is how i explain the steering wheel being misaligned.

does anyone have any insight or suggestions? i don't like the way it feels when i drive now.

thanks,

eric

Could be a bent knuckle, bent tie rod(s), bent trac bar or joints, or all of the above. I would suspect the knuckle and a tie rod first before the trac bar. I would most definitely take it to an alignment shop where they should be able to identify which part was bent. The bent part(s) should definitely be replaced as it could pose a big danger if kept in service.
