Hopefully someone can help me on this one.
My Dad's 92 W350 has a very bad steering issue. When driving down the road it will pull back and forth from center to the edge of the road and when you correct the truck over corrects to the other side. It feels as if both wheels are moving in synchro. I have repacked the front wheel bearings, put a new drag link and 2 new tires on it.
If stationary you can not see or feel any "slop" or play in the steering. Its down to the steering gear box, but I thought I would ask before I sunk another couple bills into it. If there are no other alternatives, where should I get the steering box from?
Make for a pretty scary ride, it started doing it when I was pulling a fertilizer buggy loaded w/ 13,000lbs of fert.
TIA--
David
