I have replaced three steering sectors on two 1990 and one 1991 Dodge W250's because the seals were leaking. I figured with over 250,000 miles on them I would replace the whole sector vs repairing the leaking seal. On two of them, after I replaced the sector it become much harder to turn the truck. One of the trucks has a dead spot in the steering where you turn the steering wheel and it doesn't affect the steering. Both sectors where rebuilt by the company A1 Cardone.
Is it possible in the process of filling the sector with fluid and getting the air out I damaged the power steering pump? Or are these sectors being rebuilt to different specs than the orginial one? Any ideas?
