I recently changed my tie rods from the y to t setup. I used the parts for a 1998 front end which doesnt have a mount for the steering stabilizer on the tie rod. Anybody else have this problem if so let me know what you did. I was thinking of using an OE steering stabilizer for a 98 and am guessing there is an adapter mount the hooks to the tie rod. I am not sure if the stabilzer mount on the on 2001 axle is the same as the 98

I just installed a steering damper yesterday. My situation is a bit different as I have a '98 with a '96 axle so I had no mounts at all. Click on my "truck mods" link in the signature to see what I did. It's toward the bottom of the page. I know '98/'99 had the axle mount down near the track bar and the other end just used a bracket that clamped to the tie rod with u-bolts so if you have the axle mount already you could probably just buy the tie-rod bracket and stock shock and be done with it. The shock I bought is probably heavy duty for off-roading compared to the stock one as it's a lot larger OD.
