How long does the original last? I have 108k on my truck and it wanders slightly.

What after market direct replacements are there for the original. ? I want it to bolt up just like the original without a bunch of "southern engineering" involved.

Thanks for any help... . Jack

Jack,

I'm not sure how long the OEM is good for. I replaced mine with a Sky Jacker unit, direct replacement for under $40 from Summit. I believe Rancho makes one as well. I might have noticed a slight improvement, but not sure. I only replaced mine for appearance.

I replaced mine with a bolt right up $35 Heckethorn from the auto parts at under 20k to correct wander. Been working great for the last 180k. Not sure if the stock one was worn out or just weak to begin with but the Heckethorn had much more resistance than the stock one when compressing/extending it by hand.
