My 06 steering is starting to feel just like my 96 did before a 3 year battle with the death wobble. I thought it was better after rotating the tires at 15K but think I was just getting used to it. I just drove it after not using the truck for 10 days, got in it an can't understand how I drove it before. The thing is all over the road, steering won't return to center, no DW yet but I can feel the truck getting real loose and jumpy. If I blink it's in another lane at any speed on any road. It's not caster, I've had it as far positive as it can go an back to where it was from new (all it does is get tougher to turn). Tire pressure is 60psi in front, no mods at all, no leaks, ball joints, tie rods and track bar feel fine. Though on the drivers side I have the smallest amount of play in what feels like the bearing. Truck has 16K and I'm starting to hate my baby. Any ideas, I swear there is something in the steering hydraulics that is causing this thing to not return to center. :confused: :confused: :confused:

Some have said that the steering box itself might be bad. I too have had DW on a stock truck running stock tires. I had it for a year, I had to keep the ranchos on like 8 to keep it from happening. (The shocks were NOT the cause of my DW, something else is/was loose they just help tame it)

Fast foward one year and the DW is gone! I have done NOTHING to the truck, no tires yet 78,000 miles on original tires. I have my ranchos set at 4 out of 9 and have no problems. I have no idea why it no longer happens at all :confused: :confused: I just hope it never comes back.

i have the 98 12 and a 06 mega cab ,,my 98 would wonder if i had 60 psi in the tires found out the running at 45 psi worked and 40 psi in the back with no towing ,,, my new mega cab had a little wondering to tire pressure was at 65 front and 65 back ,,i put the same 45psi in the front and 40 in the back ,,, tires still wear evenly ,,, but that what works for me

Thanks for the ideas guys, thing is nothing I can see or check has changed since new. I put 60 psi in the tires the day I got it and it was fine for 15,000+ mi then all of a sudden it steers very poorly. Delivered a small 21 foot boat today and I was flat out scared a few times. Hit a dip and the truck will start swerving back and forth (not DW). The push of trailer really exaggerates the issue. I am now getting concerned about safety but afraid to go to the dealer, I don't have an expert truck dealer around me (south eastern MA or RI). I also have an edge juice and don't want to be black listed. Also the dealer I bought the truck from (Framingham Dodge, MA) is no longer in business. I bought the new truck to avoid this :{
