I know this is not very common for a 2nd gen dodge. Ha ha

ANy way IT wanders, fine. I replaced the track bar and the steering stabilizer, Shop says ball joints are wore but not bad. Tie rod ends are tight by the wheels but the center one shows some play.

Ok, now the problem. WHen I it a dip in the road the steering wheel physically moves to the the left or right.

Is it the great 4. 25 steering box?

Maybe ball joints are worse then the shop said?

I just want to replace the part that will be the most effective with the least cash.

Thanks

Walter

From everything that I've read on this problem. It seems that the best results are when you replace the box with a 3 + - turn box. Do you have a 4 + - box on the truck now? Check the forums, everyone I've read , think it's the best upgrade that they've made. Should have done it first. I'm fortunate and have a 3 + - box since new, so never experienced this problem. :)

If you do the ball joints yourself, it would be cheaper than the steering box. Box is around $360. 00 including shipping from what others have said.
