Just a quick question, Sometimes while driving at highway speeds my trucks steering wheel will start to jump up and down like I'm driving down a washboard road. Just had it the front end aligned, new bf goodrich commercial radials, new shocks. Could worn springs be causing this problem ? I'm open for suggestions. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

try moving your front set of tires to the rear, I have had new tires not balanced properly before, you might even have defective tires, or a warped rim. Fill in you signature so we know if your 2wd or 4 wd

D for twd as opposed to W for fwd.

Check the rubber bushings on the ends of each strut rod at the front of the truck below the radiator.

I'm guessing a bent wheel that starts an ocillation. The steering wheel jumping is a reaction from something moving in the front. What about the pot joint. Is it tight?

Oh lord, wait for the fun to begin on this one... .

It aint you BWK, it's the knuckle heads in here that will take that one and run with it... .

BTW, the joint in question is at the lower end of the steering shaft just before it enters the steering box.

It is known problem as it gets contaminated and leaks lubrication, then eventually gets so sloppy it wobbles around.
