Steering wheel position sensor

Is there a way other than the dealer or special software to adjust the steering position sensor ? Mine is throwing code C0051-49 and i know after my truck got hit in the front they " did " an alignment.

Was it hit hard enough to deploy the airbags?

If so....and the steering wheel was removed, that might be a source of your issue.

I use a recent version Hunter wheel alignment system, and it has the capability of calibrating and resetting these steering systems. I do not know if it can diagnose them though.
