Is anyone else experiencing excessive vibration in the steering wheel. I started noticing this on my 2003 and believed that it was just occasional... it now seems to be noticeable more and more.
"buzzing type feeling", this is exactly what mine is going. At first mine was only noticible at certain RPM's... now it is starting to do this even at idle.
At times it is so bad that your hands start to become numb. Thanks for the replys... I guess its off to the dealer... wish me luck!
I've had this since I picked the truck up - took it back to the dealer and they say it's "normal diesel operation". Dunno if this is bantha poodoo or not, but at least I've documented it if I blow a steering box later on! Haven't had it vibrate so hard that it numbs my hands though - I really don't even notice it now.
After having owned a first gen where they would shake so bad on a rough road your fingers would go numb, I've got to say this thing is as solid as a rock. Just to impress yourself, open the knee bolster under the steering wheel and look at the massive mount that holds the steering wheel. Dodge must have listened to us on this one. If yours is moving very much, I'd have it checked out. Or maybe get the dealer to let you drive another one. If it's just a buzz, it will get smoother as the miles rack up.
