Step up to the plate

Well I did it. I traded in my 1998. 5 1 ton ext cab on a left over 2004 2500 4x4 california engine with a 48re and a 9000 GVW, sweet truck> It doesn't have the HO motor in it . I'd like to step up the HP a bit like my 1998. 5 with a diesel dynamics black box and other small mods but I'm not familiar with this 3rd gen engine. Do I need to wait a 1000 miles or so before I do this ???? Hmmm I'm not sure that why I'm asking.

The 1k break-in is for the rear end. Weak link in the 3G trucks. Bill K. at DTT reported a flaw in a thrust washer in the 48re.



I'd say BOMB'S away! Look at the boxes and decide. The fun is pushing the envelope.

Yep it sound good to me I can't wait to get the gages I orderd and I was thinking about one of those Attitude boxes or something a long those lines.

The 3rd gens run warm, get those gauges!



Dont wait on the Edge/Attitude Its been 2 years and nothing yet. (edge will say just one more month)



Look into the TST PMCR. HUGE power, built in gauge option, and EGT protection. I love mine!



If you dont want that much power then go for the Edge EZ, its a nice proven little pressure box for a little wake up for your truck.



My dads truck has the 235 HP CA motor and the EZ makes it much better, But then theres my 04. 5 600 with the TST and theres no way hes gonna catch me.
