Its the same thing as the Dodge. I don't get it? Why would Sterling be offering the same exact thing as Dodge ... unless DC is planning on selling Chrysler sooner then we think and the old Dodge trucks we know and love will be going away.

Seems like a way for DC to round out their commercial offerings while getting rid of Chrysler.

I think it's a way of getting into the market niche of the 4500 and 5500 and if/when they sell chrysler they won't loose that part of the market.

There are 2 different markets here..... the customer like a city county or state agency who is used to looking at Ford and Chevy's for their light fleet trucks... they will look at Dodge the same way... .

There is also the larger fleet guys who have larger trucks and want something for a service truck, or run around truck and want something smaller than a full size truck... . they are used to going to Sterling, or Freightliner for their trucks and will go there for something smaller... .

As far as I'm concerned this make good business sense... . Just like the Sprinter... . available under the Dodge logo at the Dodge dealer and under the Mercedes logo at the MB truck dealer... . Back east UPS has 100's of these units with the MB logo running around.....

The concept is called "badge engineering", and it's been around for a long time. The manufacturer saves lots of money on product engineering, certification and manufacturing but has more outlets to sell the product, thus increasing volume.
