For all of you Sterling Bullet Owners......
You should all be receiving recall notices for the Takata Air Bag debacle and the steering linkage replacement.
The recall number for the Air Bag is FL684A. Part required is MSL CBXZP811AA.
The recall number for the steering linkage is FL655A. Part required is MSL CBEMN631AA.
These parts are available, takes a few days. Steering kit comes from the Freightliner PDC's, Air bag kit comes UPS ground from an off-site location as they are hazardous material and cannot be stored in our PDC's nor can they be shipped air freight.
A Freightliner and/or Western Star dealer has to order the parts and submit the claim to Daimler BUT you can elect to have your local RAM dealer do the repair instead of the Freightliner dealer if they are willing to submit a labor bill for the allotted repair time to the Freightliner dealer handling the claim.
I just handled one this way Tuesday. If you or your dealer have questions contact me and I'll try to save you the BS that I went through figuring this all out Monday and Tuesday.
