Has anyone gone to the Sterling Trucks Website? Is it me or does the Sterling Trucks Bullet look like a Ram 3500 ? Is Dodge building them for Sterling? Actually it would make sense because they are in the same group.

Wait a minute, The Krauts did not sell Freightliner group to Celebus did they? They kept Freightliner group (Freightliner, Western Star, Sterling, Thomas School bus, etc. ) to themselves Right?

Anyway check out the Sterling Bullet.

I was wondering how the sale split up things like the sterling bullet /Dodge 5500and the dodge/freightliner/mercedes sprinter van. I thought the sterling was a rebadged dodge 4500/5500? If not it sure looks like it.

Mercedes maintained a 20% ownership in Chrysler. I would imagine they did that to keep these vehicles available to them.

I saw one of the quad cab Bullets the other day, while going to work. Young's Truck Center in San Angelo had it. Looked exactly like a 3500 Ram, with the exception of the grille. If it was cheaper than a Dodge, I'd buy it. Hell, put a Dodge grille on it, factory DVD player, some A-pillar gauges and you'd never know the difference.

Shure is. This project was started before the sell off.

I read about the bullet quite a while back but thought it was a concept and might not get to production. Now last month I saw an ad in Med Duty trucking and there's been a sighting? Guess it came out after all.

Yeah... there is alot to bae said for that. Heck, maybe you'd even be able to drop into the cummins shop for warranty. ?? That'd be nice.

Whoa whoa whoa, gentlemen! Before you get excited about visiting the big boys shop for service remember that these guys, for the most part, do NOT have lifts in their shops. Also, most of these guys are big diesel mechs only and do NOT like working on pickups.

I took my 3500 to a big truck diesel shop to have my Airdog installed. I got extremely lucky, because one of the mechs happened to like working on pickups and knew what he was doing. The only reason I took my truck there was because I couldn't get in to the local diesel performance shop, and this place is a Sterling dealer. By the way, the install turned out great, but it also took 7 hours to do because there was NO lift.

Would I take it there again? Yes, because I trust the mech implicitly.

By the way, they only charged me for three hours of labor, because of the fact that they didn't have a lift.

Take the advice for what it's worth.

I never thought of the lift thing. I was just thinkking of the engine, though.

I think the local Cummins dealer prefers heavy trucks, but I dont deal with them other than random parts purchases. A friend works at the Ft Wayne Cummins shop, he works on pretty much anything that has a "C" on top, including ISBs and BTA's from dodge pickups to fed ex to doughnut trucks.
