I am gonna replace my breaks this weekend, but he in the last day or so, my brakes seem to be sticking for a foot or 2 after I let off the pedal. What could cause this? Wheel cylinder?

A brake line that is cracked on the inside can act as a check valve when a flap of the inside material closes off the returning fluid.

could be any number of problems

I'd check the caliper pins/bushing's first.

It could be oil from the rear axle contaminating the rear shoes?

It could be the front brake lines/

It could be the rear wheel cylindes sticking.

Your best bet is to do a complete brake job.

Be sure to replace the rubber bushing's in the front calipers.

For best performance and life keep the caliper pins well lubed.

I used to lube mine ever 1000 miles.

SFB- How did you do this? Does it involve taking off the tires every 1000 miles? I drive about 200 miles a day. here in the last day or so I have noticed what sounds like a rotor dragging on the passenger side.

Not to hijack the thread Timbeaux but I thought I would ask.

sticky pins

Travis,

I found that my caliper pins were getting sticky really fast.

When the pins got sticky they would cause the brakes to drag.

To answer your question

Yes I removed my wheels and greased the pins every 1000 miles.

More or less.

It was mostly to prove a point to myself.

I was right!

When I kept the pins lubed my brakes lasted alot longer than when I did not lube them as often.

Check out the pics in my readers rig gallery.

You'll see what Dodge did to help keep the pins lubed on the later model trucks.

You'll also see a few tips and tricks.
