The front brakes on my son's 98. 5 2500 keep hanging up after applying the brakes.

The brake lines are brand new and the calipers are still fresh. Any ideas?

Typical. The pins that the calipers slide on need to be disassembled along with the boots they slide through. Clean everything up and lube with either Sil-Glyd (or some weird spelling like that - NAPA) or Amsoil water resistant grease. Make sure whenever you do a brake job that this is done. When you reassemble, you should be able to bolt the caliper in place with no pads (Finger tight is OK) and slide it side to side with your hands. If not, something needs cleaning/lubing.

Yup! Had the mechanic blow all the brake fluid out and replace with new. ALso replaced the right front caliper it would not come unstuck. THey're fine, but I think his front wheel bearings are shot. WHeels are hot!! Plus you can feel the wheel rumble when turning. This truck had a questionable history when we bought it 3 years ago, so its not surprising we're spending nickels and dimes as emergencies arise. Eventually it will be fixed and I'll be broke!
