Sticky Gas Peddle

I know this is not a diesel problem but some help for my car would appreciated . I have a sticky gas peddle on a 2001 Oldsmobile. The shop about 6 years ago sprayed a mist into the carb for about 30 min to fix the problem. It cost about $150 to do this. I tried to spray carb cleaner in the carburetor but not much luck. What would be a good additive to the gas that might work?

Techron is good at cleaning I use it as a parts cleaner. Cleans the grease off of wheel bearings without a brush just drop them in and pull them out (Im sure that you want to use gloves) dry and repack. Would only think it would do the same for a dirty carb.
