Have you checked for other codes? I am possibly thinking an APPS?
What are your fuel pressures? Did you change the Fuel Filter?

Could be the APPS (accelerator pedal position sensor ) also referred to as the TPS (throttle position sensor ). If it is be ready to sink another $400 into it. The dealer is about the only place to get it. Be glad you don't have the automatic they want $200 more for those. Try this, put the keys in the ignition and turn it to the start position but don't start it, then back to accessory position do this three times in a row. After the third time look at the odometer, there should be some numbers or codes pop up, starting with a P or PO. Or if you have an Autozone nearby they can pull the codes and they do it for free.

Also if you don't have a fuel pressure guage then get one ASAP.

Ditto, its probably the APPS. Been there done that TWICE! Both times it was the apps.

Make sure you verify the error code first as described above. Think the apps codes are 121, 122, 123. Its an easy part to replace, but as said above, its costly.

Its kind of a bummer that people automatically blame alot of problems on the VP44 before they even check codes. The upside is, you've got good injectors and a fresh pump, so with a new apps it should run pretty good. Make sure you have good consistent fuel pressure and your VP44 should last. Also expect your crankshaft position sensor to go bad sometime which will cause it to start stumbling at idle. Seems to be another common thing in our trucks. Good luck.

Thanks people... Yes I changed the Lift pump The filter The Injector pump

And I changed the Fuel injectors... . Got all The parts from Midwest fuel in-

jection for 1500. 00 and change... . Where do I get a fuel preasure gague... .

and where do I install it... on the shrader fitting before it enters the vp44?

Thanks for the quick response... ... . Also I now Have the Barring tool and the Injector puller for the next guy... Tom

Yeah, sounds like you need to hook up an obd2 code reader to pull the actual 1693 companion code. If the snap on isnt an obd2 type, some people go to autozone and rent a code scanner when all else fails. They may be free, but they need a deposit. Sounds like a logical next step. . Youll know what to do after reading the other code.
