my transmission is still jumping in and out of lockup... .

seems to be worse on a rough road and over bumps... .

leads me to believe that it is an electrical issue. .

new tps, trans temp sensor, brake switch... .

i have tried the capacitor fix and it doesn't work... .

i have checked the connections... nothing seems corroded. how do i find faulty wiring? can i use a continuity test with a dvm? seems if the wire was just hanging i would still have continuity. is there an easy way to find a broken wire? with say, technology other than the naked eye?

thanks. scott.

This might sound too obvious, but are you sure the brake pedal is not bouncing enough to lift from the switch momentarily? Mine did that until I bent the swith bracket slightly.

Towards the pedal. Not much. Just enough so if the clutch moves a little when hitting a bump that it won't move the switch.

No. really, adjust it!

Brake pedal pushed down, pull the plunger out of the switch as far as you can. Release the pedal. It will ratchet out and when you release it, it will ratchet back in to the correct position.

If this is the problem you will drop lock up and cruise. If cruise holds, it is something else.

cruise holds fine... .

i pulled the plunger all the way out. and adjusted it... .

i am going to columbus tomorrow and will let a trans guy familar with the ctd's fix this. he has a snap on tool that will hopefully isolate the problem sensor and/or wiring... the dealer probably has the same tool but refuses to drive the truck and diagnose the problem.

i am to the end of my rope with this one... . it's really hard to find a broken wire without stripping all of the black tubing off of the harness... . what a freakin mess..... is there a way to use TECHNOLOGY to find this problem?... .

how much are pcm's if it comes down to that being the issue? new? used? thanks. scott.

I see your from FT. Pierce, I'm in Palm Beach Gardens 45 minutes south. There is a great transmission guy in my area who has done all my DTT work and there honest too. They have been in the bussiness for 30 years and have seen almost everything. The local police depts take their cruisers there for repairs and maintenance. If you interested in them let me know.
