I'm planning to put the truck on a code reader today, but thought I'd start the post now. Was getting the check engine light. Truck would occasionally act sluggish but would seem to snap out of it after a few seconds. Dealer says low MAP sensor volts. Replaced MAP sensor (bought at Cummins NW for half what the dealer would have charged). Not the Banks ground because I put a jumper to the negative terminal. Any thoughts?

No, I did check that lame scotch connector they give you and the connection looks "ok". We are going to run the codes, clear them, and then disconnect the Banks to see if they return. At least this way I will know if the Banks is the culprit. If so, perhaps I will start with soldering the wire just to eliminate it as a possibility. I know some guys have had problems associated with this connection. Thanks for the reminder! When I get the codes, I'll post them to hopefully get some input. Thanks again!

Just a word of advice, there is a possibility of the Banks messing up the computer, I had the sidewinder system on my 91 7. 3 and after a while I had major shifting problems and loss of overdrive, had electrical mech remove the transcommand and presto problem solved, could be connections or box.
