Kyle, welcome to the group.
You'll find a wealth of info here. There are a ton of options for you depending on your budget & you'll get a lot of ideas from the various BOMBers lurking about.
My 1st question is:
Do you still have that kitty & muffler?
If your gonna go big power, definately get some gauges first. I have heard great things about the TST cam plates & that is my next option on my truck. Options from TST are as follows:
"TST has 3 power kits that can be applied to the 94/95 manual equipped Ram Diesel:
Kit # Horsepower/ Torque Horsepower/Torque
w/stk turbine housin w/ 16cm2 turbine housin
Stock 175 bhp/420 lb-ft 175 bhp/400 lb-ft
# 08 230 " 605 " 245 " 615 "**
# 06 250 " 635 " ** 270 " 650 "**
# 05 270 " 675 " ** 300 " 700 "**
** Not for highway use.
The addition of a 16 cm2 turbine housing helps the engine breathe a bit better at high power reducing exhaust temperature and giving the higher power kits a slight power gain.
675 lb-ft of torque is near the limit for the manual clutch, some times it will slip, sometimes not. TST now offers a new manual clutch that works well up to 800 lb-ft for.
Gauges are very helpful in troubleshooting and are highly recommended if you go above 250 hp. TST has a 60 psi boost gauge kit and a 1500 degree F exhaust pyrometer kit. These kits contain all tubing, fittings, wiring, sensors and mounting cup for a Ram application.
The Power Kit can normally be installed by a first-timer in about two hours, while a couple minutes a day for the next week might be required to tweak in the best smoke settings.
Exhaust temperatures are normally safe with all but the highest power kit however radiator temperatures may be a problem if the loads you pull use full power for long periods of time. "
My second question to you, since you have so many miles racked up on that 94:
I'm very curious to hear what kinda problems you have experienced alone the way?
Any 5th gear problems?
Any "killer" dowl pin problems?
Etc?
Again welcome
#ad
Mike
