Still no V17 update for my 8.4AN

How many of us are still waiting for the V17 update to the Nav? I still have V16 and have not received a letter or e-mail regarding the V17 update. I am receiving letters and e-mails about safety recalls, for all the good that does, since no parts are available yet. I am registered as the owner and on the Mopar owner's site.

Why wait? Just go to UConnect web site: https://www.driveuconnect.com/support/software-update.html, then add your VIN #. Then you should get the download option for UCONNECT_8.4AN_RA4_17.11.07_MY15 Download the file and update your radio.

I wasn't aware until last night when I found that fact on another thread. From the earliest notice of this I remember reading that the direct download option was only available in Canada, so I hadn't looked further. I did read something in that thread about people having trouble with the download and FCA advised to "wait for the next update".

So is anyone having trouble with the 17.11.07 update? Someone also said that their radio had a later update. Is there a later update that will become available after I install 17.11.07?

I did the 17.11.07 and the only issue I have is when you manually click on the option to view your cargo camera, I see two different icons.
One shows the camera mounted on the tailgate (backup camera) and the other icon shows the camera on top of the roof (cargo camera) and the Default is the Cargo camera. But the screen is Blank. If I hit the icon for the Backup camera, I see the Cargo Camera view. Other than that, no problems. However, when I put my truck in reverse I do get my Backup Camera view in my mirror & my Cargo Camera in the 8.4 screen at the same time. I only had my truck 2 days before I did my software upgrade and I don't know if Both camera views were normal when putting the truck in reverse. So to me this is only a minor bug.
I think I also read that 1 other guy had a higher version like 11.18 that he got over-the-air and he's had Major issues. That version is not currently available now and that's a good thing. Dave...

So night before last I went online, entered my VIN, and downloaded the 17.11.07 update. I didn't drive my truck yesterday, and didn't get around to installing the update. Today I get in and immediately on cranking, get the notification that I'm getting an OTA update. I never got a letter or an e-mail telling me it was coming. I was going out to run errands so I let it load and install. After several restarts, I have the update. It is a higher number, maybe 17.11.17, I don't remember. I lost all my settings.

It also thinks my truck is an SRT. The splash screen that used to come up with the Ram logo has been replaced with a red and black graphic with SRT in big red letters. I tried to dig around in the menus and I found, under "Display" a selection called themes. I tried several, Ram 1, Ram 2, etc. and I didn't see any difference. When I shut the truck off, opened the door to kill the radio, and restarted, the SRT logo was still there.



So is there a user's guide that explains how to operate the new features? For example, NAV used to be on the menu bar at the bottom of the screen but isn't now. There was a notice that said I could put things there by holding and dragging them but I tried that and it didn't seem to work. I tried it again and was careful to align the new logo with an old one and it replaced it. Where can I find an explanation of what the "Themes" are? I'm sure I'll have more questions. It seems like if they are going to release a new software human interface there should be a User's Guide released with it.
