... . to the right. My truck has pulled to the right slightly since I bought it and has gradually gotten worse. I assumed this to be an alignment problem because my truck has always had 0. 3 degrees positive camber on the passenger side and 0. 0 degrees on the driver's side. Last week I installed adjustable upper ball joints to correct the problem. Now the truck is at 0. 0 camber on both sides, 3. 3 deg. caster-driver's side, 3. 8 deg. caster on the passenger side. I was very particular about how the alignment was done-based on the advice given in the alignment specs. on the dodgeram.org site, I set the eccentics in exactly the same position to keep the axle perfectly straight, then used another adjustable ball joint on the driver's side to obtain the 0. 5 caster split (the adj. joint on the pass. side was used to correct the camber problem). By the numbers, my truck should actually pull slightly to the left on a perfectly flat road, but it still pulls hard to the right. In fact, as soon as I let go of the steering wheel, it actually turns to the right on its own and the truck goes straight for the ditch (or the vehicle beside me in the slow lane). I have rotated the tires, cross rotated the tires, and even swapped the tires around on the rims(and yes I've checked the pressure). I've even taken the truck to a frame shop and had the frame checked. I just put a lindstad fix on the track bar so it's tight. I have checked every possibility I can think of, now I'm just plain stumped. I would appreciate any advice on what else to look for or try.

Thanks in advance,

Bryan

Hmmm....

Sounds like you have done about everything relating to tires, pressures.

Try checking to see if it a power steering pull.

Vehicle on jack stands, front wheels off of the ground.

Engine off, wheels pointed straight ahead.

Start engine... Does steering wheel move?? If it does, it could have problems with a o-ring in the spool valve in steering gear.

Just a thought, Steve

Bent axle?

My '93 did this and was due to a slightly bent axle. Had a part put in that would adjust to compensate for this. Maybe you've got a similar problem, just trying to help. I can find out what the part was, had a good alignment shop diagnose and fix it.

You should have set the drivers side camber at . 25 positive camber. Both wheels straight up with even the slightest road crown will go to the right even with the caster split. Also put it neutral and turn the engine off going down the road. Most of the old mopars had an adjustable spool valve and could easily compensate for lead... the good old days!!
