Well, if that were off an older 1. 6L vw diesel, yes it would still run well... would be a little hard to start in the cold temps (32F and below).

I heard that cracked heads are common from GM 350/6. 2/6. 5 diesels. I donno, haven't worked on many.

When we went to Iraq the first time, they sent containers full of replacement engines for the Hummers. I think they had a problem with these.



WKruger, get a machine shop to pressure test it. They can tell you if it goes into the water jacket. I'll bet it does.

I had an Instructor at school that worked at a GM dealer a long time and did a ton of work on 6. 5s and 6. 2s. If I remember right he said that a lot of these engines had cracked heads and a lot of techs were replacing them under warranty and what not. I think GM ended up saying that if I didn't effect the way it ran or held pressure or something than don't replace it lol.
