just took my 03 to the dealer to have the transmission looked at for slipping.

i have been running the bddl and a volumizer together and the transmission seemed mushy(big suprise). i thought it was slipping the tq but the mechanic said that everything looked like brand new. The mechanic is a friend of mine so i belive him. It surprised me that nothing was burned. I have truckpulled, dynoed and gave it the every day street thrashing. Any commets or similar experences would be appreciated.

Thanks

Steve

the rpms would go up. It felt like it was half way unlocking in o. d. It seemed just to pull the converter out of lockup. but not all the way or a backshift.

Mine does it with the TST on anything 3/3 and up when I lay into it while it's locked. It's the TC slipping I think. Could use an upgraded TC.

But it just keeps going further as you upgrade unless you can keep your wits about you and not keep upping the power.

48re is a tough transmission just need's common improvements torque convertor and tc you definitely would notice with those improvements no matter how you drive

the truck has 32000. I know i will need a performance trans sooner than later. but with the guts still looking good it seems at my power level i can get by with a tq and a valve body. seems like kyle is right, the 48re is a decent trans. havent heard of to many absolute failures. just like everything else it has its limits.
