Mines a stock '95 3500, 5 speed with 3:54s in the back. Mom and I took a short journey this weekend and I had a Honda equiped with the 8" exhaust, (BFD), trying me on a hill... dusted it, however it seems that there is nothing left after about 98 MPH. Is this about right? I don't really need more but often want more! I think ya know what I mean! Darn tickets... ... .

As a kid my brother and I had a '64 Dodge ex Highway Patrol car with a 426 wedge and those neat "cast iron headers". That sucker flew. . and got us a lot of tickets! Remember the push button Torque Flight? NEAT! I don't remember how we afforded all those tickets, and TIRES!

That's about right for a stock '95. The governor defuels about there. I once went 20 miles on I15 in Montana with the loud pedal nailed trying to get a trailer tire to a tire shop before it closed. The speedo needle looked like it was painted at 98 up hill or down. A governor spring kit will let it go faster.

Some quick calculations for max.

235/85R16 5th gear (0. 75) 3. 54 rear (my truck)

2700 RPM = 96 MPH

3000 RPM = 107 MPH

215/85R16 5th gear (0. 75) 3. 54 rear (stock)

2700 RPM = 92 MPH

3000 RPM = 102 MPH

If you have not changed anything that deals with the speedo, then your truck in high gear should show close to stock calculated RPM/MPH.
