Well guys, my mother-in-law has made life fun again.

She showed up at our house about a month ago and said she would be relly happy if my fath-in-law would get into the cd era. Well, then she produced a box of 150 or so cassette tapes and asked if my wife would convert them onto cd's for him. It is mostly 50-60 music that there are no cd's made for.

The problem is that after 3 weeks of ME getting the tapes on the hard drive I find out that his truck does NOT have a cd player.

My main question is if the oem radios that chrysler uses read mp3's. I need to know what format to make the files.

Also, I am looking for a cd deck or cd/tape. If anybody has pulled one and wants to sell it, let me know. Otherwise if you know a place to get one reasonable, drop me a line.

His truck is a 2000, without the infinity sound group.

Thanks guys.

My 2001 with the stock Cassette / CD radio reads my burned CD's just fine. But I burned them as "music CD's" so they are not actually MP3s. Evidently, during the burn process, the MP3s that were on my computer were translated into the proper format as a "Music CD". BTW, these CDs work on everything I've tried including other computers.

I think if you burn them to your CD as an MP3, they may not work. But if you burn them as a Music CD, they should.

Hi EEngel,

I replaced a the radio that was in my truck when I bought it a stock AM/FM Cass. with the radio that was intended to be there the Infinity C/D. bought it from a guy on Ebay.

www.replacementradios.com was great to deal with. the Dodge wiring harness supports most of the optional radios and many rigs on many years used the same radios. Hope that helps.

Thanks for all the input.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the info. I will burn the discs as audio CD's (wav files) and go with the stock radio. I spoke to the mother-in-law and she said he wants the truck stock.

So much for that big amp... . :)

Thanks again.
