Whats is a high speed?

Unauthorized Dams (long, but FUNNY)

I was checking Cummins stock price. They are asking $23. 23 per share. Any opinions on this?. It appears as this is a very low number and hopefully the only way to go is up, but we have seen the swings in the market. All opinions appreciated.

Cummins Stock history

I always heard that Cummins liked going UP-hill.

If it was easy... . they wouldn't call it Playing the market, it would be called collecting the dividends.

(and we'd All BE RICH ;) )

I don't know if it's a good time to be buying any stocks, my feeling is that the economy is barely beginning to bottom and will get much worse. CUM has slipped from a buy to a hold in the last three months. Check out HDI, Harley has proven itself to be recession proof in the past and is rated as a strong buy. My 2¢

I work in oil and gas

So I may be partial... ... ... but I think energy is a good buy right now, WAR makes energy climb... ... ..... DAMN ENRON

Kevin, there's nothing wrong with that picture, HDI is a good investment. A $100 purchase in '86 would now be worth around $15k. The stock has split almost every year since it went public. Projection for the coming year is for the stock to hit $64. HD usually splits when they hit $60 and will be right back up to $40 - 50/share in a month.

The company itself is run very well and treats it's employees great. Bikes are still on backorder even with increased production. The V-Rod is a hit. They've been cleared of any Enron type accounting. I don't think a person can go wrong with them.

I reluctantly sold my bike in '86 and figured I'd like to keep the money in HD so I used the proceeds to buy their just offered stock. Didn't pay it much mind for ten years, when I did was in for a very big surprise.

I don't think Cummins return is as low as it looks (0%) because the chart is skewed due to Harley's big gains. Even if it was 100% you couldn't see it on the chart.
