Like the title says. So far I have a tst powermax cr, moded intake and 4 inch exhaust. Just curious what signs to look for. I have had the tst on for about 1 year, and had an edge ez for about 2 years before the tst. My truck is an 03 H. O. with 67,000 miles. What do you guys think.

p. s. i never really run my tst higher than 5x5

I put an Edge EZ on my 03 the day after I bought it in August of 2003 and when the TST came out in 04 I installed it and have been running it mostly on 4-2 and towing on 4-2 or 5-2 but EGTs were hard to control above that. I ran my truck up to 54000 miles with NO problems, then when I installed the new Super B special I dynoed and the lift pump could not feed enough fuel, but then again that was with the TST on 8-3 so I am now running a FASS 150

P. S. I have ran STANADYNE FUEL ADDITIVE with lubricity since the truck was new so that may have helped reduce wear.

I just got my truck out of the shop yesterday having my lift pump replaced. Mine lasted 69,300 miles. Not covered under warranty because of my mods so it cost me $1,030. 00. They don't replace the stock lift pump. They put an in-tank pump as a replacement. If I would of known more about the lift pump problem BEFORE I had a problem, I would of installed a Glacier pump prior to the stock one failing.

Is that chipped???Im hopefully getting a low pressure indicator put on soon, but im just worried. If the lift pump goes, what will happen. Will my cp3 go out like the vp44's??

Mine made it about 29k miles. I have a FP gauge and it made no difference. . There was no warning, it just went and when it goes you are stranded. That's my main gripe with this truck is that it can be crippled by a cheap little pump that should have been fixed years ago. Way to go DC, no wonder they are tanking.

Mine went 161k before it died. Have the EZ and TST boxes on for most of its life and it hauls hot and heavy 90% of the time. Since they did the in tank retro my fuel gauge has been off, tried to adjust it this past week and made it worse... reads high for too long, anyone know the "correct" way to adjust the float so it reads correctly?

Is there a difference between the 03 lift pump and the newer 04. 5 and up trucks. I know one is in the tank, but isnt the 03 somewhere else? Are they the same kind of pumps??

Lift pump lifespan depends on cleanliness of the fuel in the tank, hours of use, and luck. Whether its capacity is sufficient also depends on power adders. I found that one adder, injectors, EZ box, Edge Juice, or TST box was enough to overwhelm the capacity of the stock lift pump. Your first, and most urgent task is to get a fuel pressure gauge. Geno's Garage and a number of other vendors sell them.

I have a FP gauge and I noticed nothing out of the ordinary before my LP went south. My tech said it had something to do with the difference between pressure and actual volume.

The 03-04. 5 have the lift pump on the fuel filter housing and the 05 and up have the lift pump in the tank. This is also the retrofit if you go back to the dealer with a dead lift pump on an 03-04. 5.

Mine just went out this past week at 101k. Luckily I had a small pusher pump on it an I was able to limp it down the road. Doing the research about a FASS, Walbro, Etc. Do not and will not put one in the tank. The little Borg-warner pump is keeping up as long as I dont push it.
