Stock Motor.... How to get 500+ HP??

Hi, my motor is basically stock right now and uncle sam has been good to me. I want to "upgrade" my motor to gain 500+ HP. What can I do to achieve this??



Mods that I already have are AFE intake and Straight Piped. Nothing else.

Well in order to handle that Hp and TQ you will need a built auto/ new clutch depending on your application..... But going by what your sig says it mentions nothing about gauges... . Thats where i would start... . GAUGES, GAUGES..... Then you can play around with smaller Hp numbers or build your truck up to handle the Hp upgrades and jump right into the stuff... . just my . 02

I would start with upgrading the fuel system by Fass or AirDog... then get a TST Powermax CR. If uncle Sam was even more generous... . a Super Stock 62 from High Tech Turbo would be a sweet setup!

My brothers 04. 5 has a Triple Dog w/crazy Larry stacked on a Edge EZ & the clutch has held up great. He does get it to slip when it is cold out, but it isn't often & only when he is hauling a trailer & smashes the throttle from idle.

Well excluding any tc/transmission/clutch upgrade. With your current mods then LP upgrade, turbo, TST, downloader (Smarty, BD Triple Dog, PPE,etc. ) will get you into the 500+hp range. Around $3,500 should do it. Of course depending on the transmission you will need additional upgrades.
