to all those guys that have 100,200,300thousand miles on your trucks. was this done on stock trucks or have they been modified. it seems to me that once it has been modified the longevity decreases drastically. i really want to do a programmer but i still expect to get 300k out of this truck. is it possible to get these miles with a modified truck

Depends a lot on your right foot. My 94 weas turned up and had 400,000 km when I sold it with no problems. The young guy that bought it uses and abuses and it is still going. My 03 has over 200,000 km and has been turned up since about 50,000 and is okay. Guages are a must along with common sense.

There are only so many hp/hours in any engine but these things are better than most at staying together for a long time with proper care and feeding.

My engine is still going strong at 174K miles. Juice went in at 45K. No excessive blow-by, no odd knocks or rattles, very little oil consumption. I agree with Slow Six, your right foot has a lot to do with longevity. I've been hard on mine at times, whether I'm in a hurry to get home with the trailer or just out playing on the weekends. But for the most part I take it pretty easy.

Gauges gauges gauges.

EDIT: I know a guy who has a 94/95 that was putting out over 300hp. He had it turned down 'cause he didn't want to hurt something but I think he's still in the high 2's. He bought the truck with I think 270K and he's maybe put another 100K or so on it himself. Original motor.

I just passed 60,000 miles and I started modding the day after I bought the truck and it runs awsome, I just had the 60,000 mile service done and they were impressed with how well everything checked out considering the mods I have done and the H. P. i am putting out.

I am sure my mods will shorten the life of my motor a little but I will continue to change my oil every 5000 to 7500 miles and stay on top of maintenance

Well Ill see if I can remember every thing. At 20k I did injectors&airfilter,90k added Smarty set at level1. Now at 163k Htt manifold and HTT62/13. Just returned home mileage at 173k (uses no oil at this point)goal for my truck will be 400k. I agree with most here take care of your truck it will last a long time. The 97 I had before this truck went 389k was running strong when I sold her. Just one of the reasons I drive a CUMMINS Randy
