What are normal exhaust gas temperatures?

i just want to know what makes the difference between a 99' CTD/auto that makes 185 hp, and the CTD/5-spd that makes 215-235(can't remember)



is it injectors or computer... so when i upgrade to dd2s, the guy next to me with the 5-spd does also , will he have more HP? or will i catch up?

The HP rateings for both auto and manual in 99 are 215HP. The HP lost through the transmission is different. The auto will loose more than the manual. The auto can loose up to 20% through the transmission. On a dyno I do not beleave the auto will match the manual as far as part swap for part swap. But the 99 auto will gain more HP through an injector swap than the manual will with the same injectors. :confused:

in light of the info above, i assume that a 99' auto w/ dd2s and a 99' 5-spd w/ dd2s will make same HP at the CRANK?



NOW FOR THE REAL REASON I ASKED:



because i want to sawp my auto out for a 5-spd... i have access to a used 5-spd out of a 2000 ram 4x2 diesel, would it be worth it, or should i wait for a 5-spd to come up for sale that i can afford????:confused: :confused: :confused:
 
If you race keep the auto. They cant shift as fast w/ the stick and loose boost while shifting. :{

If you want to win: install gauges ,up grade the auto, install injectors, add a box, upgrade the exh. system and install a PDR turbo. Oo.



The transmission upgrades will cost about the same as a HD clutch will cost for the stick and the rest of the stuff is the same for std trans or auto. :D :)

All I can say is that my buddies 99 felt a lot stronger than my 98. 5. Till I got my EZ...



For sure get an EZ or better. I drove mine around today without mine on... . oh God is sucked major A$$. :{
