Competition Building 300' out back/ whats the best soil pullers?

Competition Sweet Stacks

My buddies are trying to talk me into entering my truck in the local tractor pulls street truck class. Peer pressure and learning that a Cummins normally wins has got me interested. I have questions though. How does the sled hook up to my truck? What are the odds I will break or damage something? What level should I run on my Juice? Is it best to pull in 4 Hi or 4 Lo. Also I only have the stock tires do I have a chance? What is the best driving technique? If I do enter I don't want to embaress myself. Any tips would be great.

Stock clutch run 3 Lo.

Build rpms and gently let the clutch out get the sled moving.

You need a clevis with a 3" opening that hooks up with your trailer hitch.

If you would be pulling against "true" street stock trucks i would say you would do fairly well. Having said that I have never been to a pull and had every truck in the class be street stock. I would say run you edge on whatever setting you can run on the street and not work the transmission. I have never pulled an auto but i would still think 4 low is the better pick. As for the odds of you breaking, if you dont bounce or jerk the wheel side-to-side or anything like that you should be fine.

I seen a guy make a brand new stock clutch smoke with 4 Lo last year in his 04.

Maybe he didnt know how to drive right though?

Chances are slim you will break it. Run low range 2nd gear. Dont shift just leave it in 2nd from the start. Stock tires at your power level should be fine if its a good hard clay track. If you dont come ou to hard run your box up high.

If it is a bone stock class you may do o k but if it is a "stock" turbo class a Duramax will hand you your arse. If you want to try it go for it!! have fun Try NOT to get "hooked" ;)

Chances are, if this is your first sled pull, you might get embarassed. But that is ok, we all have to start somewhere. It is like datting girls, once you start you can't quit.

With your auto, I would use first, (maybe second) lo range. If the stock class will let you use your Juice, I would turn that sucker to the max and bend the floor with your right foot. You want to go as fast as you can as quick as you can. Again with the auto I don't think you will break anything. You will need a 3 inch clevis to hook with and use the highest hitch the rules will allow. The stock tires will work if the track is hard pack.

Go for it, you will have a blast. If you have a weak heart be careful, cuz it's shore going to go pitty patter, ha ha!

I've pulled alot w/a stick but would say to just put it in Drive & get it going as fast as you can & it'll downshift if needed. That's the way they pull w/the autos around here.

Have fun & let us know what happens!

I'll bet you won't be able to wait for the next pull after this one.
