Hey guys, i have a question for you about my stock turbo. Im getting ready to take a 1000 mile trip from new mexico to california and back pulling around a ten thousand pound toy hauler total loaded weight. My mods are a full 4 inch exhaust, custom mod stock intake, and tst powermax r39, running grades i usually run the box on level 2 by 3 or 4. Im just curious cuz i dont wanna blow my turbo 800 miles from home. I have 67,000 miles on my 03 cr ram. I usually see around 31 or 33 max boost under heavy fuel on grades, any help would be appreciated.

I would not fore see any problems just try not to bark the turbo and I myself usually try not to let the EGTs get above 1250

I put 50,000+ miles on my stock turbo with ALOT of towing my 30ft 5er and not problem one but watch the temps, I would not use the 1350 as a max myself

In my opinion, I would leave the TST on 3/3. I found that to be the best performance and temps when I pulled a load from east coast back to Reno. No problems at all with temps on 3/3 and I tried lots of different combinations on the TST.

Your turbo is ok at 3/3 or even 4/4, it wont over speed till you dial up levels of 6 or more.

I personally dont tow at levels over 2/2 because of the load it puts on the rest of the drive train but that's just me.

I have run my 03 80,000 mi. pulling a 12,000lb. trailer 70% of the time on 3x3, 0 problems

Only time have to watch egt is on a hot day on a 7% or greater grade.

Just curious, what kind of boost can the stock turbo handle without coming apart. I know the 04 1/2 and newer can handle like 38 psi, but i dont know about the older ones

I set my tst to de-fuel when the boost gets to 40psi. It can't be that good for the turbo, but it seems to be holding up fine.
