I would like to no what the correct stock"boost" pressure's are at low rpm while towing. (under1500rpm) My turbo has stopped whining like it used to. My fuel mileage has dropped considerably even after replaceing injectors. I'm guessing it's the turbo but not sure. One note: I have plenty of boost when my foots in it, say 2200rpm@23lbboost pressure at manifold. But only between 2-5lbs under normal op conditions. And yes, the entire system from the turbo to the motor is air tight with no obstructions.

Also, the egt's are running hotter then usual, say 700 while cruising, 1300 while passing/towing. <---NOT A GOOD THING!

Please give any input that might help. thanks

Welcome to the TDR! :)

Why are you towing at, or under, 1500 RPMs? Would I be correct in assuming you have 3. 54 gears and an auto transmission? If you do, you need to lock out the Overdrive. That will bring up the RPMs, while also increasing the boost a llittle (and air flow) to reduce the EGTs. It will also save the transmission from low line pressure that will cause it to run hotter and slip.

Being a '96, the max boost looks OK. 2-5# cruising, are you on the flat with those numbers? What kind of load are you pulling?

Where is the thermocouple for your pyrometer? In the elbow after the turbo or exhaust manifold? If pre-turbo, 700* isn't a problem at all. 1300 is over the 1250* recommended max temp. If in the elbow, 700 still should[/] be OK, 1300 TOO HOT!.

Is your air filter dirty? Fuel filter? Have you cleaned the pre-filter screen?
