I am sure this is covered somewhere else but sorry couldnt find the answer I was looking for... ...

 I was just curious as to why the New CR trucks everyone say not to push the boost over 36psi? I understand that the air is hot but with a loaded trailer and the wastegate installed I can easily push 1100-1200° on EGTs. With the wastegate turned off the EGTs stay around 1000-1100°..... I would think that the lower EGTs would be better that worrying about that the incoming air is hot... . Is it because the new turbo is actually weaker and will not hold up like the older one or is it something else... ? (Incase you are wondering I am pulling a big tandem dual trailer with heavy loads on it and my 37ft 5th wheel) And i am pulling with my smarty on #1

In comparison I ran my 99 at 30-40 PSI for almost 175,000 with out a problem for 5 years with plenty of extra fuel and never gave me one problem...

This is simply a question about the turbo nothing more...

I ran 50psi out mine for about 15k miles and it still doesnt have any problems. You will be fine at 40, but your pushing your luck on turbo life if you go past 40psi...

How are you controlling the wastegate?

mine has seen 50 plus psi a few times. i can only imagine the drive pressure though. but i see close to 45 psi on a daily basis with my smarty on sw1. anything over that and i could easily peg my 60psi gauge.

I control my wastegate by changing the program on my smarty from a program for stock turbo and injectors to one for aftermarket turbo and stock injectors
