Wade Myers of St. George UT had his red, lifted 24 valve Ram stolen last night in Mesquite Nevada. It is on the police national list. He has nitrous and an HX40 turbo on it.

A very good friend of mine here in Utah, just had a pickup, Covered Motorcycle trailer, and two motorcycles stolen from LasVegas Nevada this past week. It was parked in a Casino Parking lot,and was locked up and had an alarm system too boot!

When my friend called the LasVegas Police, they claim there are over 400 stolen vehicles a Month there, and wouldn't even go to the parking lot to investigate! They told him to come to the Police station and file a stolen vehicle report, and that's all they could do for him!

Right Gary - ?Donde esta Monterrey? Who knows, maybe a coyote stole it and it'll come back loaded with frijoles. :(

Rotten deal for sure. Whoever the idiot is he/she/it probably has no idea of the 20,000 pairs of TDR eyes out here. Hope somebody spots it. I'll sure be looking around here.

BTW, any possibility of this thread having a banner link on the forum home page? Something that would get more views than being sort of buried back here in "Second Gen"?

I had a buddy at college that had a 2500 gasser and he ALWAYS pulled the fuel pump relay. Unless they have one in there back pocket or are REALLY good they are not going to take it!

i hope he gets his truck back, that sucks. i really cant stand these car thiefs. i would like to see the cream bag that stole it spend 10 years behind bars.

About the only way they are recovered is if it was just some kids out for a joy ride. Other than that they are out of the country so fast it would make it near impossible to find.

I know this from my best friends dad is a retired auto theft detective from calif. living in Saint George Utah.

Okay, what is the best way to "kill" a CTD so someone doesn't steal it, or minimize the chances?

(1. ) You'll need a passive electronic lock that disables the starter and fuel pump. It's on my truck and you'll need to tow my truck away to steal it! Product is no longer available.

(2. ) Another easy option is to disconnect the CTM (Central Timer Module). Truck will start and 2-3 seconds later will QUIT!

Take a look in the previous TDR mag, NOT the one you just recieved, or will recieve shortly. It has a write up on installing a kill switch. It has something to do with splicing in a switch to the clutch engage jumper wire, sorry I can't tell you more, I only glanced at it.

I will probably do that to my truck in the next couple weeks, since I will be going to Mesquite on Memorial Day weekend.

My dad's chevy was stolen about a year ago. He was with in a week from finalizing the insurance claim when wouldn't you know it, they found the truck. It was found in AZ near the AZ, CA line and was attempting to return from its third trip smuggling drugs. The cops and border patrol said the back seat had been ripped out to make room for more drugs and that in an attempt to out run the cops it had been wrecked (they were bypassing the border and running desert in 4wd). The insurance company tried to pass the buck and claim the truck was still salvageable. Luckily he was able to convince them to take a closer look. The insurance company ultimately considered the truck totaled and cut him a check.

Joe, give us some more info on the truck... ... Pahrump is a wierd place... ... you never know!!!

I have an anti-theft device on my truck that is made by Jacobs Electronics. It is called the "Stop Action Deluxe". There is a hidden switch that has to be activated every time the truck is started or it will die in about 30 seconds. The idea behind this is it will allow the thief to start the truck and back out of the parking spot then it will die, drawing attention to it when the person stealing it tries to restart it to no avail. There is also a carjacking feature. Say someone comes up to you at a red light, points a gun to your face and says "get out are I will shoot. " You simply exit your truck, activating the carjacking switch, and let him have it. One minute and thirty seconds later the engine dies. This gives the carjacker enough time to put a safe distance between you and him. You call the police and tell them that your truck has been stolen and is within a mile and half radius of your present location. This is the second truck that I have this device on and both have worked flawlessly.

i KNOW WE ARE ALL WATCHING FOR THE TRUCK BUT IT WOULD HELP IF SOMEONE WOULD POST A NICE PICTURE SO WE CAN KNOW WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE--THANKS rUSS IN sAN dIEGO---ON THE WAY TO TJ---FORGIVE THE CAPS, THOUGHT I COULD SEE THE LETTERS BETTER TONIGHT

I just installed a hidden pushbutton switch that disables the fuel-shutdown solenoid relay. I considered the clutch switch but I wanted something that would let me crank the engine without starting so I could pump up the oil pressure first (a good thing to do if the engine has not run for a week or more).

I just shut my fuel line ball valve off. I installed it when I moved the lift pump. Its hidden up under the frame with the prefilter. They can start and back up then run out of fuel. Good luck to them if they can find it, turn it back on, then prime the dry system of all air they sucked. If they can do all that in 2 minutes... they can have it.
