Someone stole my ______ and I don’t know what it’s called. I do know it caused my exhaust filter to fill up and my truck de rated. Any help naming this part and or where to get a new one would sure be appreciated.

Hard to tell for sure from your pic but it looks like you are at the back end of the DPF. It looks like it could be the egt probe at the back end of the dpf. Should be a threaded sensor in there. If thats there I can go crawl around under mine and try to get a better idea but thats the first thing that comes to mind.

Where does that black harness go, the one that is ripped off and laying behind the exhaust hanger?

Either way, I'd be filing a police report before you get too carried away...in the event they got a hold of something else or there are some other issues down the road and the bill starts getting excessive you have a pathway to make an insurance claim.

It looks like the harness was pulled apart. There's two bare pins on the right and one plug on the left without any wires coming out of it.

Went out and looked at mine, a 2020 2500. All I see in that vicinity are a couple wire bundle runs and a few connectors; no components. From the looks of the OP's picture it would appear something flipped up in the narrow void and played havoc with the wiring and connectors by forceful disassembly.

No more EGT probe at the back of the DPF?

Looks like the connector remains that "used" to hold the two dangling naked terminals. I believe that connector is attached to the frame with a Christmas tree hanger.

Yes sir, I'm curious where that guy goes. On my 14 there is an EGT probe at the back end of the DPF.

There are two or three probes/sensors tucked up high and outta sight.
My guess is the OP should have had a big-honkin' light and accompanying warning message stating something was wrong in the DPF or emissions system with the disconnected sensor wires. Possibly related to the filling of the DPF and de-rate situations. Could very well be a simple connector/wire repair and system/code reset to make things all better.

Here is an early video clip catching the creature in action which causes all of these sneaky and dastardly deeds of destruction on our trucks. It's still at work today judging from the wiring damage in this post...and the CP4 stuff...and...

Thanks for your quick responses.
What happened was:
We parked at a Big Creek horse camp in the GSMNP to do some backcountry horse camping. Left Thursday morning, rode back to the truck and trailer Saturday afternoon to find that I was cleaned out of tools in my toolbox and a floor jack. The *******s took all my beer too! Got a “exhaust filter 80% full” code before we got out the parking lot, 120 miles later 100% full and power reduced but we made it home. I got a closer look at home and found they had snatched the egt cables loose and had attempted to unbolt the exhaust( probably with my wrenches). Some guesswork as to what color went where and some butt end connectors later we hit the road regenning for about 20 miles. Still have a light on the dash but back to full power. Drugs are ruining our young.

Insurance claim and claim "everything", beer, tools and whatever else was taken. Assuming you have comprehensive coverage you can get everything fixed and replaced minus your deductible. Drugs are ruining our young and country for sure. Not defending druggies but it may have been yahoos that knew ½ what to take that would be sellable or they needed. Don't think druggies would be interested in exhaust cleaner fluid...
Either way it sucks. Hope you can file a claim and recoup some of your loss

I’ve never tried to sell a catalytic converter but they say you can get cash for them. It’s easier to get under our trucks than low cars. It’s recommended to etch your License tag number on them. Not sure what if any good that will do. I hate a thief.
