Stop lights & turn signals died......

My stop lights & turn signals stoped working today. The tail lights still work when I turn the head lights on, just no stop lights or turn signals. It's not a fuse or anything eazy like that. I pulled out the poorly put together trailer wiring harness thinking that was it..... it wasn't. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks.

Yes and it was the turn indicator switch. Might not be on yours though. The main light switch is notoriously poor and all of mine have been replaced one time or two. I would start with the main (headlight) switch.

edit: Seems like I remember a problem with the four way flasher can cause that also.

I would say if your flasher unit for your 4-ways is bad, or anything else in the circuit out of sync, and the button is engaged, that would kill your brake and turn signal lights.



Keep us updated- these older trucks will only develop more electircla problems as the wiring ages.
