I stopped my 1998.5 24 valve automatic 4X4 to talk to a friend on a dirt road for about 5 minutes. Went to start the truck back up and the WTS started flashing, the engine turns over but will not start, also noticed the lift pump wasn't turning on either, even after bumping the starter.

Pushed to a farmer driveway I know, started checking fuses and relays all test good with meter, even changed them around no difference. Left it there to work on it in a couple of days.

i came back with different tools and readers. When to see what codes there was and nephew helping me push it in to the driveway had left the key on and both batteries were dead took them out brought them home and charged them and did load test to make sure batteries were still ok. Went back the next following day reattached batteries went to read codes there were none set or pending. Turned switch back on and wts was still flashing, so with switch in on position I disconnected positive cables for over an hour reattached positive cables, turned off switch removed key, reinserted the key turned the switch, same as before wts flashing engine turns over, but still won't start or get lift pump to turn on.

I'm know thinking it's the ECM, but not sure. Has anyone had this problem before or have any idea what it could be? Any help would be much appreciated.

After finally getting back to truck with good batteries, I tested lift pump, vp44 hot wired both, both are good. Started checked wiring, took awhile, but I've determined the ECM is bad, I figured it was but since I was far from the house to check everything I could just to be sure wires were good to ECM and good out.
Has anyone had any experience with any remanufactured places like All Computer Resources, Diesel ECM Source, or one that will rebuild mine and bench load program. I saw one awhile ago on the internet that sold rebuilt units or rebuilt your all plug n play but can't find it right now. Any feed back from you members will be much appreciated.
