When the rear end blew out literally, he parked it. For like four years(?) I think. I checked the oil and pre-lubed the turbo spin 'round thingy. Installed a fresh battery and cranked her over with the solenoid power wire removed. Then started it and I drove it into the garage to replace the rear axle assy and changed the oil. All is well.
Block off the exhaust pipe with something. . plastic bag and a bungy for example. Do the same for the turbo intake.
Changing the oil is a good idea if you can esp if it has some time on it.
When you go to fire it up again, obviously remove the seals from the turbo and exhaust... . then remove the fuel solenoid wire and crank it over until you see oil pressure. Then connect the solenoid again and you should be good.
jay, when you suggest changing the oil i assume you mean pre storage. if so, would this oil still be useful post storage (approx. 4 months) or should i change it out again?
