That's a good read. My first real job out of high school was in a stile and rail door manufacturing plant on the tideflats in Tacoma, WA. WW2 vintage machinery. Everybody was missing a fingertip or 2. So many injuries, so little safety equipment. Air was full of dust as fine as flour. Nobody wore eye protection, hearing protection or masks. Started at $2.75 /hour. Learned a lot about life, lucky enough to go to college later.
