So my family and I joined the in-laws (you'll remember them from Furd stories on another thread) on a trip to Canton, Tx not too long ago.
My FIL drives a 2006 3500 Chevy and tows a 43' Mobile Scout toyhauler and I was riding with him.
My wife, daughter, MIL and wife's grandmother were following in a Sequoia.
We stopped a couple of times on the trip and they were complaining that he wasn't keeping the same speed.
While riding with him I noticed that he just put the thing in cruise control, not Tow/Haul.
I even asked him if he ever put it in Tow/Haul to keep it in a certain RPM range. He replied, "No, I just pay attention to the speed. "
Keep in mind he owns and operates a small fleet of MAC trucks and heavy equipment.
Just makes you wonder if people really know what their truck/vehicle does before they even buy the thing. Doesn't take advantage of the transmission for towing that heavy 5er.
All the while he was getting about 6-7 mpg loaded with a 24 gallon tank.
Anyway, thought I'd share that story with fellow Dodge Cummins enthusiasts.
