Competition first time driving it I ran a 13.27@108

The new ATS converter was awesome according to Jeff. They were racing at one of the slowest tracks in Georgia (slightly uphill). Jeff ran 7. 4's all day using only 3rd and 4th lockup @ 93 mph. 1. 6's 60 foot times. All other STP race trucks/cars were off 2 - 4 tenths on this track. :eek:



The STP alcohol dragster was running 4. 9's (that has got to feel incredible. )



The Dakota ran 8. 1's all day. :cool:



Hopefully we both will be a Friday night test and tune this coming week to get some 1/4 times on all three trucks. :D
 
David when I asked you if you had any fast trucks for me to race in Georiga I did not mean stupid fast! Well I quess thats it, we will have to bring the fast truck:D Well I better get going so I can finish Clint's STUPID fast ATS Diesel Performance Dodge. See ya in about a month and I'm sure Mark will bring his drug pushing dulley. Most of the crew will be heading up to Montana that weekend. So the fast Chevy will be in Montana.

After adding this ATS converter, I took a ride on some "test launches" and the G-force felt was incredible. More than I have ever felt personally. So, did a little research. This amazed me.



My 98 12v ran 2. 2's to 2. 3's in 60 feet at Muncie in 2WD. This equates to an average of 0. 74 G's and a speed of 36. 4 mph.



In 4wd, my 60 foot feels great AND dropped to 1. 88. This equates to 1. 06 G's and a speed of 43. 5 mph.



Think about the difference of a car that can pull 0. 74 on a skid pad vs one that pulls 1. 06 G. Kinda like the difference between a Dodge Avenger and a Viper. :eek:



With the drag truck running 60 foot in 1. 6, that equates to 1. 46 average G's and a speed of 51. 1 mph. :eek:



Since he was fluid until third gear, and on a slow track, will it get quicker in 60 feet? To go from a 1. 6 to a 1. 5 will mean picking up over 3 mph and generating 1. 67 G's.

Great to hear about the ATS your using. Do you think most of the gain in speed, and the lower times are mostly because of it?

Translation = 0-51 mph in 1. 6 seconds. :D



Lockup has always been used in all gears but with the new setup it just plain launches harder than before. Fluid is good enough that if you locked up too early on that awful track last weekend, you'd get tire shake big time.



The only thing changed was the TC and rebuilt the transmission (Muncie Carnage:eek: ) Was the other transmission slipping? Who knows.



Every vehicle STP raced that day was off at least 2 tenths while the drag truck recorded it's quickest pass ever. This tells me something went to working right.
