Next week the new staight pipe exhaust in happening. With the pipe being straight thru, will it suck cool ait back up into the engine when the engine is shut down? And if it does, would it hurt the valves becasue cooling them down so quick? The question comes from my drag racing days, when we use to cap the headers after a pass. .
Thanks guys. .

Its a loooong way thru a hot metal pipe... dont worry about cold air! Your drag car had shorties on it, that would make a difference.

My experience working on turbocharged aircraft engines says that too quick a cool down may crack the turbine hosing. However the Holset housings are very thick compared to avaition turbines and I would not worry about cooling it down too fast (unless it is at 1200 degrees and you throw a bucket of ice water on it. )

Thanks guys for the information. . Muffled sound is on its way out, clear clean sound on its way in!!!!!

my OBNOXOTUBE (4' open, angled out, and flared to stainless 5" outlet, forward of RR tire) has been on for a year. no problems, other than the expected dirty looks #ad
remember, the cold air also would have to travel upwards to get to the turbo, and that pretty much doesn't happen, due to warm exhaust pretty much forming a boundary layer in the "downtube"---- You'll love the additional perceived "zip", especially once you start turning up the fuel.
