Straight Pipe?? Taking the edge off?

My 04 Dulley has been straight piped for a few months now and, I LOVE IT I love scaring the yuppies in their beamers talking on cell phones. But. . winter is coming the snowmobiling season is approaching fast.

The family will be riding with me on 6 hour road trips pulling a 2 place V-nose enclosed trailer. Long up hill grades will probably drive them all crazy. What can I do to take the edge off? I am not going to change the whole exhaust system, I was thinking of adding just a resonator or a high flow muffler. Anyone have any suggestions on either? Sound clips????

I put a DPP see-thru muffler on mine, just spliced it in, took 15 minutes...

Midway down the page is the muffler, I tones it down just enough for long trips, IMO



BUT i am removing it to see if I would like the Striaght pipe for around town use

Well, I have the solution that I will be buying soon... It is a 4 inch electrically operated bypass cutoff. www.streetpro.us/. You can run it to one side or back into the exhaust after the muffler. It looks really cool. I will be buying it next week. . stay TUNED :-laf

That looks like something I would want, BUT look at the price :--)



$460? whats a bit steep, I will be interested to know how you like it though

I had the staight pipe on mine - but - pulling a loaded gooseneck for hundreds of miles everyday - it got to be annoying. Maybe Im getting to old.



I had a Donaldson on mine but took it off and got a 4" straight thru Magnaflow with a stainless 5" tip. Sounds good and looks great.

i think the price is $369. 00 or $389. 00. . but just think that you can go from quiet to obnoxious at the flip of the switch... Whats another $360 in the Cummins Improvement Fund.
