Straightpiped PSD flutter

Anyone else think this is an annoying sound? I heard one yesterday, looked good but sounded funny. Make a truck noise with your mouth, that's a Cummins, now do the same thing but say it into a little portable fan, that's a PSD. Just my HHO

it's definately a funny sounding exhaust note, but I'd rather hear a straight piped Powerhoax than a dead quiet one!

It could almost sound like a 5. 9 cummins, Well at least one that has 2 dead holes. Wait, nevermind they still dont sound that good.

I hate straight piped PSDs. Most annoying sound I've heard (other than the wifes nagging :-laf )

I've noticed both V-8 turbo charged diesels out there have a very similar and annoying sound.

At least they think it sounds good... .

Not only are they annoying ,they sound like they are missing on at least one cylinder. First time i heard one i thought he had a dead cylinder.

There's a Flowerjoke with a straight pipe on it in my neighborhood. To say it sounds like SH1T would be putting it kindly.



On the other hand, there's a Dmax with a 3" exhaust and some kind of a free-flowing muffler that drives past my house almost every day, and I must reluctantly admit that I think it sounds kinda cool!

The 6. 0's sound good, if they run.

Yeah the 6. 0's sound cool when S/P'ed, and I even think the D-max's sound pretty good as well but the 7. 3 s/p'ed just sounds terrible!

My grandpas 7. 3 straight-piped, sounded great. Can't say on a 6. 0. Haven't heard one yet that was s/p.

Dmaxes sound good straight piped. Had one that way for three years.

This local "kid" straight piped his. He drives up the hill past my house every day. Kinda like he is going to a fire. The truck sounds sick.

Dockboy, I would agree. The highly fueled PSDs sound a lot better than stock straight piped PSDs.
