HELP, a great friend of the TDR - Robert Schwarzlie - is traveling in Wyoming in his 1990 Dodge.

You'll never believe this one.

One of his exhaust stacks has fallen off and melted a hole into the fuel tank. He is stranded and is in desperate need of TDR Help!

If you are in Wyoming and can offer him any help, please call him directly at (416) 605-4154.

He was traveling to Salt Lake City when the exhaust stack fell.

Thank you all for any help you can offer to him. He does not have internet access at this time, so you will have to call him.

Where in Wyoming? Will a fuel tank from a 91. 5 fit? You can have it but you got to get down to Colorado and help me pull it from "Old Ugly's carcass. Cant do it, myself! GregH

Update. Sitting in mcdonalds grabbing dinner.

Thanks to all for your help. I am back up and running after 7 hours on the side of the road. My stack did seperate at the y for the bed. It sunk down and dumped 1250F exhaust gases under the bed. The tank is melted, the sender unit assy is non existent, e brake air lines melted and compressor wiring.

So after all that time, I managed to re wire the compressor as good hills are ahead, replace the air lines and managed to get a transfer flow tank to sit in my bed and plumbed that right to the lift pump. It's not right but gets me mobile.

If anyone has a 90 tank they want to get rid of... . I will not install it now but will pull it all apart when I get home.

Thanks again to all of you and Robin too. It was nice to have all the support on such a sucky day.

Glad to hear you're going again Robert! Breakdowns bring out the genius in all of us. :) If I had a tank, it would be yours. Might try posting a re-titled thread if you can't find one.

Just be glad its not January in Wyoming on the side of the road. THAT would suck even more. Hope the rest of your trip goes better. :)

If you get Texas way, I've got several... . '91, 2 '92s, and a '93. I'm gonna part out another '93 soon. But the diesel doesn't go with it!! :D
